The Nights Are Drawing In
On the odd sunny autumn day, it’s easy to imagine that summer is still there. But with the mornings and evenings getting darker and darker, there’s just no denying it – summer is definitely over. For an electrician that means we’ll start getting more calls about problems to do with lighting. Faulty bathroom pull cords are a particularly common problem we’re contacted about in the Colchester and Ipswich areas.
The reason they break more often in autumn and winter is that we’re now using them more frequently than in the lighter months, how often do you actually use your downstairs loo light in the summer? As the nights draw in, we start using bathroom pull cords three times as much. This can be a problem particularly in downstairs bathrooms where there’s no natural light at all. And isn’t it always the way that they break in the night, just when you need them the most!
Although it may seem like a small job, it’s important to call a trained electrician to help with changing these fittings. Like with any electrical job, if you’re not sure what you’re doing it’s always safer to call an electrician, I often see work that has been carried out that isn’t up to standard, and poor electrical work can lead to fuses tripping and worst-case scenario, fires.
Here at Colchester and Ipswich Electrician, we take pride in our work, no matter how small the job. After all, going to the bathroom in the dark is no small feat! If you need help with a broken bathroom pull cord or any other electrical problem around the home, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We offer friendly, professional service and competitive prices.
